How Hohem Drove 32% of Revenue From Email and Increased Conversion Rate by 26% After a Shopify Revamp

Hohem, a leader in consumer electronics, set out to get more from its digital marketing. In January 2025, the company made a strategic shift, moving its email marketing from Omnisend to Klaviyo, an advanced solution built for e-commerce. In parallel, Hohem worked with Verz Design on a revamp of its Shopify storefront to strengthen the on-site experience behind those campaigns.

The Challenge: Outgrowing a Previous Setup

Before working with Verz Design, Hohem faced limitations on two fronts: a storefront that needed to work harder to convert its traffic, and an email platform that could not keep pace with its growth.

Shopify

The Shopify storefront needed a revamp to give shoppers a cleaner, more capable path to purchase, and to better support the email and search traffic being driven to it. Without that, campaign traffic was landing on a store that was not doing enough to turn interest into orders.

Email Marketing

On email, Hohem relied on Omnisend. While functional at first, the platform soon revealed gaps that made it difficult to keep up with the brand’s growing e-commerce needs.

  • Limited segmentation: Omnisend offered only broad customer groupings, which restricted Hohem’s ability to send personalised, high-impact messages. This lack of precision reduced engagement and conversions.
  • Weak automation: Building complex, multi-step email journeys, such as abandoned-cart recovery or tailored nurture flows, was difficult. As a result, we often missed opportunities to re-engage and convert customers.
  • Basic testing tools: The platform’s limited A/B testing made it hard to fine-tune subject lines, content, and timing, slowing improvements in open and click-through rates.

The Solution: A Shopify Revamp and Strategic Klaviyo Implementation

Shopify

Verz Design revamped Hohem’s Shopify storefront (launched April 2026) and supported it with SEO, rebuilding the on-site experience so visitors could move toward purchase more easily and campaign traffic had a stronger place to land.

Email Marketing

To address the email limitations, Hohem adopted Klaviyo to build a more data-driven email marketing programme. The team rolled out core features that changed performance:

  • Automated flows: Key flows such as lead nurturing, cart recovery, and lifecycle engagement were set up to deliver timely, relevant messages at scale, saving time while consistently driving sales.
  • Advanced segmentation: Using Klaviyo’s real-time data, Hohem now tailors communication based on customer behaviour, purchase history, and engagement patterns, enabling more personalised and effective campaigns.
  • A/B testing: By systematically testing subject lines, content, calls-to-action, and send times, the brand continuously refines campaigns to drive higher engagement and stronger conversions.

Together, these initiatives created a solid foundation for sustainable growth across both the storefront and the email channel.

The Solution: Strategic Implementation of Klaviyo

The Results: Stronger Engagement, Revenue, and On-Site Performance

Hohem saw measurable improvements across both channels in the first month of the Klaviyo email transition and the first two months of the revamped Shopify store.

Email Marketing (first month post-migration)

  • Revenue growth: The email channel became a major contributor, driving 32% of total revenue, while overall store revenue rose 23%.
  • Automation success: Automated flows generated 27% of all email revenue, showing their efficiency in capturing conversions.
  • Improved scalability: Hohem’s open rate held steady at 57% even as sending volume increased 5x, indicating that refined segmentation and targeted messaging let the brand scale outreach without sacrificing quality or engagement.

Shopify (first two months post-launch)

  • On-site performance: The revamped Shopify store recorded a 26% increase in conversion rate and 4.68% add-to-cart rate.

Conclusion: A Foundation for Continued Growth

Hohem’s move to Klaviyo, paired with a revamped Shopify storefront, laid the groundwork for smarter automation, sharper segmentation, and a stronger on-site experience. With this upgrade, the brand is positioned to deepen customer engagement, grow conversions, and sustain long-term growth.
